I became a psychologist to help people create change in their lives and to be a comforting presence and guide as people work toward achieving their goals. I believe strongly in the power of good therapy and therefore take a very active role in the therapeutic process. One of the most powerful ingredients in therapy is honesty with oneself and the therapist. The things we don’t want to say are often the things that keep us stuck. For this reason, I approach each person with unconditional positive regard and compassion. I am careful to meet people where they are at in terms of their readiness to change, whether you are just starting to explore the idea of change or you are in the midst of transforming your life and want additional support to help sustain those changes.  Therapy can be overwhelming and even daunting at times. I recognize this challenge and the strength it takes to look at oneself, which is why I strive to create a safe and collaborative therapeutic environment. During the therapeutic process, I help patients tell their story and create meaning from their experiences.
